Stress free game (so far...)

Last night I watched most of the Sox game till about 10:00. At that point I just could not keep my eyes open any longer so I turned off the tube and headed to bed. The Sox had a comfortable lead in the late innings so I went to sleep peacefully without a worry in my head about the eventual outcome of the game.

This morning when I woke up I checked the final score. "Holy crap!" I exclaimed.

"What's wrong?" my wife asked in a concerned tone.

"The Indians almost came back to win it last night. The Sox won by 1 run!"

She just looked at me incredulously for a second and then rolled her eyes emphatically.

"Now I'm glad I didn't watch the end. I've got enough crap to stress me out going on."

Which brings us to tonight's game, where it's currently a stress-free 6-0 in the top of the 7th. This is the kind of game I like. The Sox are cruising with a nice comfortable lead. Ahhhh. Nice and relaxing. No worries in this one right? I can just kick back and chill.

But what's that irritant in the back of my brain?

I keep thinking about last nights final score. Who's going to come in from the bullpen tonight and are they going to allow another comeback? I hope not. I need some non-stress baseball right now.

On a side note, happy first day of summah everybody! Hope you enjoyed the longest day of the year. The days start getting shorter after today but I'm trying not to think about that. Forget I said it.
