Hurricane Katrina....
My heart goes out to everybody that has been affected by this horrible disaster. Watching the hurricane slam into Louisiana and Mississippi was truly frightening. It was an awful, helpless feeling to watch it happen and know there was nothing that could be done about it.
Watching the images of the aftermath and seeing the destruction of peoples lives has been terribly heartbreaking.
Like many people I wish there was something I could do to help the victims. Here are a few links from CNN and here is the link to the Red Cross.
At the same time, I can't believe that there are people actually looting. Disgusting. Absolutely disgusting. What kind of people are these? All I can say is, hopefully these people will be caught and get what they deserve.
Very well said!

Too true. I guess disasters like this really do bring out the best and the worst of people.

In regards to the looters, I can totally understand and feel for the people that are out of water and food and are taking things because they are just trying to survive this calamity.
It's the people that are just stealing shit for the sake of, I don't know what, personal gain? I don't know... Those are the ones that I have the problem with.

there are closed military bases that could
house the victims of katrina. they could use
trains as well as buses to transport. That's if they haven't been torn them down and are still intact. You would be able to keep families together. Also keep better records of who is who and where they are.
