Dougie to the rescue, again!
It was good to see the Sox get the win last night. I think if we had lost to KC last night, I might have had a minor Red Sox meltdown.
I have to admit though, I did not watch most of the game. After we got the kids into bed and got the dishes and everything else in the house squared away last night, by the time I got a chance to check the score in the game, it was 4-0 KC. Not good.
I watched a little bit of the game but I could feel my Red Sox Annoyance Level beginning to rise, so my Wife and I decided to switch over to a different channel and watch a movie, 'Die Hard With A Vengeance'. Yes, it's a bit of a ridiculous movie, but it's entertaining. There are lots of explosions and car chases, which I like.
After Bruce Willis had taken out the last bad guy and uttered his final, one-liner joke, I switched back to the Red Sox / KC game. I was expecting to be aggravated by the score, but instead I was happily surprised to see the Sox had taken the lead in the late innings and went on to win the game.
Yippee-Ka-Yay Mutherfucker.
Even better, the Sox comeback victory was mainly due to a game-tying Monster Shot from Doug Mirabelli. Doug is one of my favorite players on the team. He catches Wake, which is wicked haahd, and he takes his at-bats bare-handed, and that is cool.
Of course, on the flip side, Wake seems to be hurt and the Yankees won their game vs Seattle, so they are still right on the heels of the Red Sox in the standings. Hopefully, Wake's back will be ok with some rest, and with a little help from Seattle, maybe The Sox can gain a little ground in the standings tonight.
