Random Thoughts for a Friday

First of all, it's REWARD Friday, so reward yourself for getting through the week.

My iPod woke up sick this morning. I went to sync it up with my computer and it was giving me the spinning disk of death on the display screen. A few weeks ago the iPod holder that I use when I work out broke and the iPod hit the floor 3 or 4 times before I figured out what was going on and why it kept falling out of the holder. The spinning disk of death is usually not a good sign, so I let it have the day off.

I attempted to listen to the radio on the drive in to work but, I shit you not, I could not find any radio stations that were playing any music. Every button I pressed brought me to some stupid DJ yukkin' it up with his compadres in the studio. Sickening. Radio sucks.

The only CD I had in the car was 'Nevermind' from Nirvana. I had been a while since I last listened to that one. I still like that record, even if it is somewhat main-stream / over-played or whatever you call it these days.

I remember when it came out. I loved Nirvana's first record, 'Bleach,' and I was in a record store, Newbury Comics in Natick MA, and they were playing 'Nevermind' in the store. I went up to the desk and asked the guy, 'Is this Nirvana?' 'Yup!' I bought the cassette on the spot. Nirvana hit it big shortly thereafter.

Switching gears, Monday is a company holiday so I've got a long weekend this weekend. Psyched? Yes I am. I'll be doing a lot of work around the house on Saturday and Sunday, so it will be good to have Monday off to hopefully do nothing. I'd like to get most of my work done before The Pats game Sunday afternoon. I don't really see it happening but we'll see how that goes. If not there's always the radio.

My Wife is having a 'girl's night out' tonight, so I'm home taking care of the kids. I'm watching 'Cast Away' on TV. Great flick. Right now the boat is going past Tom Hank's raft out in the middle of the ocean. GET UP TOM! GET UP!
