Happy Longest Day of the Year!
Happy Longest Day of the Year!
As much as I enjoy the fact that today is a very long day here in the good ol' Northern Hem, and we are lucky to have the sun shining here where I am today, I can't help but be reminded that the days start getting shorter from this point forward. Dammit. I think before the days start getting shorter we should get a week of nice, sunny 12 hour days first. It should be a requirement. Then after that, things can start getting shorter again.
Speaking of the days getting shorter, my kids start their Summer Vaycay today. I asked my Wife what the heck she is going to do with them now that they are home all day and she told me she had no idea. Maybe it's time to start learning about the character building values of doing house-hold chores. Ha. Somehow I don't think that will go over too big with them... Maybe a trip to the town pool and the playground would be more to their liking. Ya think?
The Sox took two out of three from Atlanta and are now back to a nice double digit lead in the A.L. East. I like that. I like it when the lead is two digits. When it's only a one digit lead, things feel too close. Anything 10 or over is nice.
Especially with the Yankees. You can never write them off, hated or not, Steinbrenner doesn't pay all that money for nothing.

Hopefully this year will be different! If the MFY don't make the playoffs (yes, I KNOW it's early..) they you could say he paid all that money for nothing. Which would be nice ;-)
